Is my iPod 5 going to be okay?

I had fallen through ice on a frozen pond and was there for a good minute or so. Then I got out and walked home which took around ten minutes. I put my iPod in a bag of rice. Then, after an hour, I took it out and tried to charge it. Then I stupidly decided to blow dry it. Not for too long, though. Then I gave up and left it for the night. Now it's nine PM the next day. I put it back in the rice, hoping it would help.

I don't know what to do anymore and I'd really appreciate any help at all. It does not turn on at all. It was dead before I fell and it's not showing the "I need charging" symbol when I try to turn it on, though I hadn't tried much. I'm kind of poor and also getting kicked out of the basement my family is currently renting so I won't be able to gather up enough money to get a new one, which is why I'm more worried then ever.

Leave it in rice in a sealed container for a week and periodically change the rice.

Then if it does not work

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
