I have never used my iPad mini and it's asking for a password. I thought I set it up to use the touch sensor feature but it's not working and I'm locked out.

If you are unable to sign in to your iPad because of an unknown passcode, use the steps in this article to erase your iPad and reset the passcode - If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled.
