Does the file size for individual songs have an impact on the sound quality? For example, will a song @ 320kbps sound better than the same song @ 256 or 128kbps? The file size obviously has a big impact on the number of songs that any device can hold, so is there an audible benefit to keeping the songs at 320kbps? Thanks.

Actually, I'm playing the music through an iPod with Sennheiser Momentum earphones or in my car which has a pretty high-end sound system.
Most digital music are compressed. Try ripping with other encoding (or lower rate) and test, your ears can tell you more then numbers.
