I understand that you're looking to get your Canon scanner to work with your Mac after upgrading to El Capitan. According to our documentation, there is software available for this device. It may help to check for Software Updates (via the Apple menu) prior to connecting your scanner.
Check for software updates before connecting your printer or scanner. This updates the list of the latest supported printer and scanner models on your Mac. If you don't check for updates before trying to connect a new printer, you might not see available software when you connect your device.

If you're still unable to get your Mac to recognize your scanner, the next step would be to reset your Mac's printing system.

May 6, 2016 5:09 PM in response to Allen Aby davidf1111,We have the same problem. We tried all of the above steps and it still does not work.
The scanner does show up as connected to the USB bus, but does not show up on the list of printers and scanners.
What else can we try? Thanks.
David.
