Playing music on iPhone 6S Plus odd behavior

Restored the phone twice since getting it this past September. Currentry, as I play my playlist for going to sleep or enjoying Christmas music I get odd behavior from the Music app.

Music will abruptly pause or stop and go to the next ssong.

Song will play halfway the without switching a different song plays while scrubber continues as it was the original song. Example I was listening to Tears for Fears, yes that's an indication of my age, and just pass the halfway point the music abruptly changed to Fleetwood Mac the finishes only to be followed the same Fleetwood Mac song.

Not all songs act like this.

Thanks for any help offered.

Which iPhone 6s Plus do you have? I have had the 128gb and does not play audio using genuine Apple lightning connector. All other apple devices work including the iPhone 6s Plus 64gb. Spoken with Apple support on numerous occasions and not resolved yet. Only option at the moment is to downgrade to 64gb.the 128gb will play on a sound dock ok but not in the car.

My issue is with songs I purchased or ripped from my own CDs long ago and loaded them unto my iPhone. I used the new Music service during the free trial, but haven't used it since the original expiration. No issues during them or immediately afterwards.

My issue seem to start when I started listening to podcasts, video podcasts, Netflix, and PlutoTV and used a cheap bluetooth speaker. After use I would get odd distorted systems sounds. I restart the phone and it would work fine.

This odd behavior started a couple of weeks. I'm resetting my iPhone as a new phone to see if happens again. Thankfully, I have my purchased music backed up three ways plus offline. See what happens.

On a side note my new shiny phone can no longer be used with my iTunes software on my Lion partition. I am using the latest iTunes on Windows 10 on a separate SSD partition.

I had this problem on my 64GB 6 Plus over a few iOS 9 versions and restoring didn't help because (I presume) my backup was corrupted. I restored again and did not load my backup, which was a fair amount of work, and I had no further problems. I'm now on a 128GB 6S Plus which started life out with the last backup from my 6 Plus, and happily there are still no problems as you describe.

So if you can invest the time, restore again but don't load your backup, it may fix this for you.

For information sharing purposes I have the 64Gb version of iPhone 6S Plus. I did restore to a new phone set up rather than from a back up. It was fine, but there was so much work to put everything back I reset it again to restore from a back up. No issues for a while until the issue came up.

I finished the restore and as a new phone. I spent an hour putting everything back the way I want it and will see if I get the issue.

Rockmyplimsoul I believe you have a point that the back up are or might be corrupt. I should know by tomorrow when I use it as usual and get the same behavior again.

Okay one full day after restoring my iPhone 6S Plus as a new phone and the odd music behavior returns. This morning I was listening to Barenaked Ladies "Do They Know It's Christmas", song is purchased and loaded unto my iPhone, when about half way it stops playing then Tina McBride plays. The scrubber is moving along with Barenaked Ladies album art displayed, but it's McBride playing. When the scrubber reaches the end then the album cover changes to McBride and her song start anew.

Just now as I am typing this another purchased song is playing remix of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and before the halfway mark stops playing. The scrubber is still moving to the right.

Am I dealing with corrupt files? I'm going to see if I can duplicate this on my iPac Mini3. If it does happen then I'm thinking the cause is the files and not my new iPhone.
