i can't seem to send whatsapp messages to group chats and i think is due to the updated ios software which is not compatible with my iphone 5s

I have the same problem, started this morning.

I'm running on iOS 9.1, using iPhone 6. Not sure what happened but I've also opened a trouble ticket with Whatsapp Support as well.

Some group chat is working, some group chat messages can't be delivered. Individual messages are working fine. I've tried to delete and reinstall the app, delete the group chat and recreate, all didn't help.

Ran out of ideas.

What did WhatsApp support say when you contacted them about the problem with their app/service?

Same here with an iPhone 6S with iOS 9.1 stopped working around midday today. (GMT+1 in my case, Spain).

Can't send any text message on any group but just images... which is terribly annoying since I'm getting as well all messages but no one is getting mines except images. I can also type individuals properly without issues, but can't type on any group.

If I get into a group which I didn't send anything before the issue, the first message will be send, but afterwards any message will be sent, and all will fail.

As iOS 9.1 is compatible with the iPhone 5S (you wouldn't be able to download it to the phone if it wasn't), that's not the issue.

Try deleting Whatsapp and re-installing it.

They haven't answered yet neither by email or social networks...

That seems to be about par for the course for them.

Unfortunately, they will have to be the ones to address your issue.

I already tried that. It didn't work. Maybe the latest version it's bugged and that's the one we are downloading.

Quite possible. In which case you'll need to wait for Whatsapp to provide an update.
