Plugging or unplugging of headphones causes crash

Hello henrikcm,
I understand that you received a kernel panic while using your MacBook Pro and appeared to happen when you unplugged your headphones. I am unsure if it is related but let's go over how to look this up and how to troubleshoot it.
I would start with looking at the System information to look over what the kernel panic was about. To get there, hold the Option key and click the drop down menu  > System Information... and then click on Logs. Take a look at the link below on how to get there.

Now as far as troubleshooting this, it can take some time. You will want to look over the next article. It is lengthy but does give you some troubleshooting options depending on if this is hardware or software related.

I too have had this issue. It happened twice in one day, and today when unplugging the head phones Chrome crashed.

Using iPhone 6 headphones.

I have yet to be able to reproduce it on demand, once I can I'm going to the Apple store.

Same issue here.
13" Retina MacBook Pro Early 2015, Apple headphones.

It is never the same application that crashes.

I have also been encountering this problem for the past few months on my 13" Retina MacBook Pro Early 2015. Unplugging my iPhone 6 headphones either causes chrome to crash or my mac to restart.

I have the same issue too, unplug the headset crash Chrome, Lync, iTunes.

I have Late 2013 MacBook Pro (Retina) running OSX10.11.3

I am also facing similar issues when headphone plugged out. Either chrome crashes or computer re-starts.

Try SMC reset. That might resolve the issue as it sounds to be a sensor related issue.

Had the same issue - where when unplugging a headphone actually seemed to log me off as caused by some crash, consistantly - and indeed a reset of the SMC solved it. Another symptom I had was crackling of the speakers when no headphones plugged in and sound muted. This also was resolved.

Weird thing is that this occured immediately after upgrading to OS X 10.11.4., not sure if it was related.

Same here. Chrome has crashed. Firefox has crashed. And mail has crashed. Almost every time I take the headphones out, some app crashes.

SMC reset solved the issue for a few weeks but just now chrome crashed when I pulled out my headphones, so I am back to square one.
