What bandwidth were you upgraded to?
What download speeds are you currently getting? You can use Ookla Speedtest for that: http://www.speedtest.net/
What model / generation of Airport Express are you using?
The Yellow light indicates there is a problem with the Airport settings. and you need to look into it.

WirelessIn addition to Phil0124 comments I just wanted to add that the data throughput through an 802.11n or 802.11ac AirPort Extreme base station will be significantly better than you are getting through your current AirPort Express. That is because the Extreme base station use Gigabit Ethernet ports vs. only 100 Mbps ports used by the Express ... so, theoretically, you should see an improvement in the amount of data that the Extreme can pass over your Express. However, please note that the router has does nothing to do with improving the Internet 'speed' that is provided by your ISP.
