Q: iMovie 10.1 not working with Photo 1.2 on OS 10.11.1

I just upgraded to OS 10.11.1 and Photo 1.2 and iMovie 10.1.

I did not upgrade my iPhoto to 9.6.1 before all the above happened. This release was to make the upgrade Photo more compatible and may be the cause of my issues.

Primary issue is that in iMovie I cannot get consistent access to Photos. Sometimes I see Photos on the left side, sometimes nothing. Reboots, tend to make it visible. But when visible, it is inconsistent re my ability to show albums. In most cases it tries to load every photo which takes forever. On one occasion I actually did see my Albums so I thought it had resolved itself but that is no longer the case.

As I write this note I had iMovie open but it did not show Photos Library. Guess what, I shut iMovie down and restarted iMovie and my Photo Library is there! BUT, it is loading every photo I have which takes forever.

In Photo preference, the "use as System Photo Library" has been greyed out so I believe that is not the issue.

Something tells me that my Photos is corrupt and therefore not working well with iMovie.

Why I say this is that in Photos I have iPhoto events which are albums, and also standalone albums not in the same section. Some albums appear to have been duplicated with abbreviated names.

The inconsistency is painful so any advise from the community would be appreciated.
