Q: IPhone 6 Hotspot not working anymore

Hallo,

I have an IPhone 6 with latest IOS.

Two PC's. One is Windows 10. The other Windows 8.1. Both are up to date.

ITunes is on the latest release.

Recently my Hotspot stopped working.

Status of the PC drivers are "Not working".

They point to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers which are from June 2015.

I uninstalled, reinstalled ITunes a couple of times. Uninstalled all Apple Software, all drivers etc.

I am not able to fix the problem.

Any help appreciated.

Ok, I did a complete shutdown of my IPhone. Restarted again. And now - at least in Windows 8.1 - the Hotspot is working again. In the evening I will try on my Windows 10 PC. Very, very strange ...

The mentioned troubleshooting is not working.

E.g. on the Windows 8.1 PC everything was working fine aprox. 2-3 weeks ago. My guess is that there maybe was a Windows update in the meantime.
I found some other questions on the internet with pretty much the same problem.
I can't belive that it is not a known issue ...

No, via USB.

I have tested WIFI and it is working. For some reason my IPhone does not always appear in the list of available WIFI spots.

I also do not have WIFI on all of my PC's. For this and other reasons I would prefer the USB connection.

Are you using the original USB cable that came with the phone?
Is your phone recognized by iTunes when you connect via USB?

Yes, it is the original cable.
Yes, the IPhone is recognized by ITunes and also the sync works fine and I can access the IPhone from Windows Explorer.

I'm on a Mac and my PC is still running Windows 7, but what do you get if you go to the Network and Sharing Center and check your connection status?
In case they still have that in Win8 or 10

Did you try to force restart the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
