Kernel Panic Caused By An Audio Interface

Ok I got it fixed a while ago. I can't remember perfectly but I think if you update the yamaha driver software it will fix it. I think updating the os makes the driver not work so you have to update it. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure.

I had been having this issue for the last year, tried pretty well every solution I've found online and no success. I FINALLY found the solution!

Turn off sleep mode. That's it!

Under Settings > Energy Saver > Computer sleep --- set it to "Never."

Display sleep is fine to leave on.

I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this before because I knew sleep mode caused issues with audio interfaces, and should have realized this is why it tends to happen after the computer's been on for a while.

Hope it can help some people out.

Maybe the interface is conflicting with another piece of software or hardware. Post a recent panic report so we can take a look. Mac OS X: How to log a kernel panic - Apple Support Make sure to include the hardware profile at the end of the report.

Well.....the problem is indeed the akai driver. You have the current version so I'm not sure what to advise. Akai has a support community that maybe you could use to post the question in and see if you can find other users with similar experiences http://community.akaipro.com/akai_professional/topics

I dunno.....how much ram does your Macbook Pro have? The panic happens when the akai driver tries to load but it always makes me raise an eyebrow when I see someone running El Cap in only 4gb or ram. I know it WILL but I question how well.

Have you tried removing and reseating the ram in the iMac?

Have you considered reverting back to the last stable version of the driver to see what happens?

I am having the same problem with a Roland Duo Capture. Did you resolve this? Roland tested on other mac's and say the driver is working fine but I am getting kernel panics on my macbook pro. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with a steinburg ur22 mkII. When I shut down with it connected, my imac has a kernel panic and restarts, but if I turn my interface off when my mac is on, it does the same thing. So every time I want to turn off my computer, I have to turn off my ur22, wait for the computer to restart, and then shut down my computer. It's a pain and it also can't be good for it. Nobody seems to know what the issue is and it seems pretty rare which kind of *****

I'm having exactly the same issue with my Steinberg UR22 / Mackbook Pro - the audio interface is causing the computer to restart again upon starting up...

Wondered if you'd had any luck finding a solution to this?

Also, I'm using Cubase (Steinberg product of course), yet when I've plugged in a guitar and start playing around with VST effects, Cubase crashes and an error report is generated as follows:
