Using Waves 9 with Logic Pro 9
What are the steps needed to get Waves 9 plugins working in LP9? The installation and activation instructions on the Waves site don't mention any steps specific to installing audio units, but I gather there are (or there's one, at least). Here's what I've done:
1. Purchased a few Waves 9 plugins over the weekend
2. Installed using Easy Install and Activate in the Waves Central application.
3. Started LP9. The new plugins were not scanned by the AU validator and do not appear in the AU manager.
4. Found the Waves AU Reg Utility and ran it. The message I got says "Found 8 AudioUnits Components in 3 Plug-in Files...<includes the path of the folder>." This sounds correct in terms of what it found, but I can only guess that this means that it registered them. Is there anything else that should be happening at this stage?
5. Restarted Logic, still no scan or mention of the new plugins in the AU manager.
6. Tried restarting in both 32-bit and 64-bit mode, just in case, same result.
Are there any steps I'm missing? I confirmed that there's a Waves related file in my Plug-ins/Components folder, WaveShell-AU 9.6.component, and I'm guessing that this should take the place of individual AUs for each plugin. Is that correct? I e-mailed Waves tech support but haven't heard back in a couple days.
I'm running LP 9.1.8 on Yosemite. The Waves support page only lists Logic Pro X as being supported for Waves 9, but I've read that other users have been running it with LP9 without problem. Thanks.
