Assuming that you are using the Google Drive App, and by "something" you mean a PDF, Open the PDF in the Drive App, tap on the three dots on the top right corner, then tap on Send a Copy. Tap on the "Open In" icon on the bottom row, and then tap on "Copy to iBooks" option in the list of available Apps.

If it's a PDF, you can use the iOS Google Drive app to open the PDF, then tap anywhere in the PDF, and watch at the top of the screen for the "Open in iBooks" button.
I have the document in my google drive. The only options I get are at the top in the vertical ... menu. I can not sent it to my ibooks .
It only gives me :
add people
get link
send a copy (sometimes my iBooks will appear in here. How can I make it always be an option?)
move
keep offline
star
rename
remove
details
yeah I've done that in the past, but now my iBooks is not an option in there. Is there a way to get it back to being an option?
You may need to scroll the App list to the right to find it if its not immediately visible.
If its not a PDF, or other supported epub format iBooks will not be an option since it only appears for file formats it supports.
It is a PDF. And I've been able to do this in the past, which is why I am so vexed now. iBooks is not an option to 'send a copy'.
Is there a way to get it as an option? Right now I only have message, mail, gmail and my expanded ( ... ) gives me reminders, Facebook, messenger, pinterest,
Google Drive has been having all sorts of issues opening files using the sharing option (Open in) in iOS...that is, what used to work on older versions may not work on newer versions. Some versions (no longer available unless you archive your apps and have a copy stored locally) still work while the newest again breaks functionality. Google Drive has recently changed the way files are identified and which options are shown when iOS's file sharing feature is used...now Google Drive scans the file somehow to identify it instead of simply looking at the file extension (like .pdf). They complicated the process needlessly while breaking basic functionality. The specific version of Google Drive makes all the difference whether or not Google Drive will properly handle the file. The version I am using that still works is v4.1.36890. I believe newer versions once again broke accessing PDFs. One of the most frequently recommended work-arounds is to simply use another cloud-based file system like Dropbox.

Tap on the "Open in" Option below those options:
That should bring up another menu with more App options including iBooks.
Thank you. This was perfectly helpful.
