what does it mean when it say compatable with 7.0 or later

I was trying ot see if my ipod 4 was comatable with an app and it said this. Im not sure what it mean. Thanks for your help. 🙂

It means that the current version of it requires at least iOS 7 and won’t work on your iPod touch. If desired, download it to a computer or newer iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions.

It means it is not compatible with your iPod. Your iPad is running iOS 6.1 and the app requires a device that is running iOS & or newer. So it will not work on your iPod.
