Q: iBooks Hidden Charges not transparent !
I just purchased a book on the iBooks Store about using Apple Motion called the Apple Motion 5 Cookbook. I thought this looked interesting because I have been working on learning Final Cut Pro X and Apple Motion ( just downloaded the FREE manuals and thought I would buy one with some projects included ). I am not happy with paying , about $10.00 for a book to learn something and then discovering that I need to log onto a outside web site and pay to have the additional e-Pub training materials. I just think that this is a type of deception. They market a book and then tell me that , gee ... buy the way.... if you want to really use this book, you are going to pay more to have the necessary materials. This really stinks if you ask me. I think that Apple iBooks needs to have some kind of WARNING label or something to the reader that there may be ADDITIONAL CHARGES if you want to buy the book and use it to its FULL potential. Books today are NOT just PRINTED material. If a book is marketed to include other digital material then this should be FREE and included with NO CATCHES ( say having to log onto another site and provide extra confidential information about yourself - like your e-mail , name and such ). It really surprises me that APPLE is out to lunch here !!! I want to buy the book and get alll the xtra material for FREE included with no hickups or catches. I just feel that this is a shady type of sale when I am forced to do this. Now , I will be more careful in the future. I don't care so much about getting my money back but I can assure you that I have NO INTENTION of loging onto a outside web site and being stupid about downloading anything potentially damaging into my very expensive iMac.
