Help! how to disable f9, f10 on macbook pro?

ok, so clicking f9, and f10 both seem to minimize applications on a macbook pro.
unfortunately I use my macbook pro for video, and clicking one of these in a performance takes out my video!!!

how would one disable this function?

macbookpro 17", Mac OS X (10.4.7), Dual boot Mac/XP... although I havn't used XP yet :)

ok, in addition, here's some of the odd behaviour

f9 and f10 seem to minimize even if I have the use f1-f12 option in the keyboard disabled

for example, f9 always switches to the desktop, without the fn key pressed, even though I have this option off in the keyboard panel. please help! 🙂

Did you try to disable the functions associated to these keys within the "Dashboard & Exposé" panel, in the System Preferences ?
