Q: iMac and CanoScan 8800F incompatibility
I have a problem very similar to that of Man-of-Mystery (Nov 25, 2015):
in my case, however, I have an iMac with El Capitan 10.11.1 OS X version, and
have still been unable to use a brand-new CanoScan 8800F I purchased on
Oct 25, 2015. After having used a CanoScan 5600F for more than
nine years completely trouble-free, I had erroneously assumed that any
subsequent Canon scanners could start working just like the 5600F,
therefore at the time of purchasing I gave no thought to drivers.
On November 23, 2015 I wrote Canon U.S.A. a letter detailing my predicament
and requesting information as to any expected date for their release of drivers
for El Capitan 10.11.1.
To this date, (Dec 4, 2015), I have not received any reply from Canon U.S.A.
I will appreciate any help from those out there who have undergone comparable situations.
