It is still available in Printers & Scanners via the Options & Utilities > Utility > Open Printer Utility for the respective Canon printer. However, if you created the printer using Apple's AirPrint driver then you won't have the utility. To check which driver you used, open Printers & Scanners and select the Canon. Then in the right hand pane, look at the entry labelled Kind. If this mentions AirPrint then that's your culprit. You could remove this printer and add again, this time ensuring you select the respective Canon model in the Use menu instead of the AirPrint driver, which will be the default selection.

I am using OS X 10.11.1. I found Canon IJ Printer Utility, but when used it says that no printers were found. I do believe I'm victim of AirPrint, but have no idea how to clean my printer!
Open System Information, located under Applications > Utilities, and select Printers in the left sidebar. If the Canon is the only printer on your Mac then you will see its information in the right pane. If you have more than one printer, then select the Canon from the top right pane to see its information in the bottom right pane. Can you select all this information, copy and paste back here for me to check pls.
No "Printers" on the left sidebar and nothing relating to Canon or printers on the right.
That's quite unusual. Even if you don't have a printer installed you should have the Printers entry in the left column, as shown below, and when you select it the right panel will show that the list is empty.
When a printer is installed, the right pane will show the details for the printer, as shown below.
Thanks for all your effort. I called Canon help desk and was informed (I feel so stupid) that all of the maintenance functionality is redundantly on the face of the MX892 printer. Hence, the Canon IJ Printer Utility is superfluous, and printing is now handled universally by Apple's OS X El Capitan 11.1.1. It's called Air Printer Lite - which prints to ANY printer.
Glad you had success; I'm still fighting with this Canon MX532 - require the IJ Printer Utility to 'manually adjust the print heads' (auto adjust won't work) and not having any luck (downloaded, installed etc. and can't find it). My attempts to reach Canon however unsuccessful - nobody available for chat, the phone will not route my call due to technical difficulties and I have to create an account to send an email. So very frustrated with Canon. Love my MAC however.
I take it back; after all this the advice above helped!!! Found my printer utility - copied and pasted into the search bar and voila!!

I don't understand. Isn't all the functionality available ON your printer? MAC OS X has expanded so much that it now has UNIVERSAL printing capability. All the old functions you did on the computer are now handled by printers.
You sir are a total legend! Thank you for this top tip!
i have this issue too and it's not under Printers & Scanners via the Options & Utilities
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
thanks!!
not sure if i should be posting this on a Canon forum instead since likely not Apple problem ? 🙂
