From your question, I understand that your daughter’s iPhone was dropped a short distance and doesn’t appear to have any cosmetic damage or screen distortion, but the display is no longer responding to touch.
It may be necessary to contact Apple Support, but I would suggest working through the suggested steps in the following article before doing so. There is also a link within the article on how to contact Apple Support if needed.
