Q: Moving full resolution photos from iPhone 5 with iOS 9.x to iXpand flash drive
I have an iPhone 5 and an iPad Air, both running iOS 9.x. I also have a new SanDisk iXpand 128 GB flash drive. I have about 3,500 images and videos in my Apple iCloud Photo file which I would like to move to my iXpand drive. I removed the thumbnail images from my iPhone to increase storage space. There apparently is no way to directly install these images to my iXpand drive. According to SanDisk I must "select" the images in the iCloud file that I want to move and then tap "Share" and then "Save Image." This will then move the images to my iPhone. Once done, then I will have to connect my iXpand to my phone and using the iXpand app move the images. Also, full res images are large files and my phone is relatively full; so, I assume I'll have to do this in a few different sittings?
I want full resolution images (not thumbnails) to move to my iXpand. Once done, I will frequently access the iXpand images directly on my iPad without internet availability. So, how do I know that I'm moving full res images to the iPhone and not just thumbnails?
Why cant I just plug my iXpand drive into my PC or Mac to download images and videos directly? Ill ask this of the SanDisk folks also.
Thanks much,
Chuck
