Sending in Pc for repairs; need to delete iCloud photos from pc but not iPhone

I am sending in PC for repairs. They said to remove all personal information from Pc. My photos are stored in iCloud stream. What is the process for removing iCloud photos from Pc? Id like to re-add the iCloud photostream once I get the PC returned to me And I don't want to lose any of the photos. Do I need to both uninstall iCloud and also delete the iCloud photostream on computer? Will iCloud photos remain on my iPhone? Thanks

You can just sign out from the iCloud Control Panel.

OK did That. it deleted iCloud. Now still have a problem. I have a file folder called pictures. Inside that folder is "iCloud photos". Inside that is a folder called "photostream". Do I delete that folder? I don't want anyone to browse it. It has iCloud photos on it still.

Yes. Deleting that folder will only delete the PC copy, not from your other devices.

Thank you! This is quite confusing. This photo tream folder seems to have only random photos from my iCloud. Can you explain why I have this folder on my pc but not my iPhone?

Is there a way to eventually take all photos out of iCloud and put them all into photo stream since my iCloud storage is almost full?

Photo Stream photos do not count towards iCloud storage, so moving them would not help.

My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support

Does My Photo Stream use my iCloud storage?
No. The photos you upload to My Photo Stream don't count against your iCloud storage.

Well actually that would help wouldnt it? I need to store my photos somewhere other than icloud since it's almost full.

Since photo stream doesn't limit your storage capacity, that seems like a better way to store photos. Or am I missing something?

Maybe I misunderstood your question... you want to move your photos off of iCloud because you're running out of space, right? But moving them wouldn't free up any space, since Photo Stream photos don't take up any space to begin with.

OK, now im wondering; once I delete the photostream folder from my pictures, how will I get it back once I get my pc returned? Will it reappear once I log into icloud?

It should, yes. If not, just create an empty folder with the same name in the same location, or you can specify a folder to download Photo Stream pictures to in the iCloud Control Panel.
