Q: Itunes Error - iTunes cannot connect to Store Purchases - If you have any firewall software, make sure it has been set to allow communication on port 443.

My itunes has been fine. All of a sudden today it's now giving me this error: Itunes Error - iTunes cannot connect to Store Purchases - If you have any firewall software, make sure it has been set to allow communication on port 443.

I don't have my firewall turned on. I logged out of itunes, quit itunes, logged back in - still a problem.

Was there an update and this is now a bug? HELP!

Thanks!

To add to your point about Apple customer service: I can spin a tale where Apple literally overnighted a custom-engraved iPod I was giving my brother as a 'best man' gift. Why? Because the order I had made a week earlier was sitting on a dock somewhere in China. No extra charge.

I love L1 ... they come up with some interesting approaches .....  I did notice that the movie does not show up in my list of iCloud movies on my phone but it was on my Mac Book yesterday.  I can play other movies fine on my iPhone. Just a suggestion - when you update the ticket - be sure that you let them know if you did the movie transfer bit - DRM is such a PITA but unfortunately necessary.

I think it's safe to say Apple's absolutely aware of the issue. Their QA is such that there's *little chance* they didn't experience the same phenomena within moments, if not before, we all did.

I'd imagine they're aware of this thread, and they're not necessarily replying to it because there's nothing to report as of yet.

You are probably right. But then I think they should acknowledge it as an actual problem, which would save everyone the trouble of having to blab on here (myself included) and/or send emails/calls to customer support! I know, I'm asking a lot here...

I've just come off chat with Apple Support

Apple are aware of the issue - and they are working on it - there is due to be an update for iTunes - 12.3.2 which should cure the issue and its release is expected any time now. They did say that in the App Store there may appear a beta version of the update first - they advised to wait until the final build of the update was released. The beta version will say "PRE-RELEASE" under it.

Bugs are an unavoidable reality.   But Apple's non-response to bugs is Apple's choice.   It shows what Apple thinks of its customers.

Yeah, I've only had a lousy experience with Apple in general. In fact, I have no idea why I keep coming back.

thank you for taking the time to do this in behalf of all of us

    I too contacted Apple Support

I did all of the suggested things with logging in and out, signing in and out of the store.

Finally my purchase that alerted me to the issue showed up after multiple emails.  Warning disappeared for about 6 hours

and now it is back the same on all three of my machines.

I had just updated the Captain software btw.

    Not a happy camper here

FWIW - I've also been seeing the same issue for the past 3-4 days and only on my MacBook Pro running 10.11.1.  Tried everything mentioned plus deauthorizing and reauthorizing.  No progress.

Just to add my voice to the problem. The weird thing is that I have an iMac at work and an iMac at home and the problem happens on both machines which leads me to believe that it is indeed a software problem.

I've just installed iTunes 12.3.2 and haven't gotten the error (so far)

iTunes 12.3.1 is still registering as the current version when you check for updates in iTunes but I was able to find the download page by doing a Google search, here's the link: iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple (LAE)

Make sure you select the right one! (Windows/OS X)

I have the same issue on my Windows 10 PC and my Mac. I just noticed it today however I haven't used iTunes in a week or so. Diagnostics run fine so I have to say this is an issue on Apple's end.

Good find.  But I just tried 12.3.2 - and it's no good for me.  When selecting "My Movies" I see the cloud icon churning in the top right for about 2 minutes and then I get the same error we've all been seeing.  Clicking on this icon appears to force another attempt but this time it comes back straight away with the error.  I'm reverting back to 12.3.1 for the time being since this isn't an official release yet.
