Q: I can't delete songs off my Music on iPhone

I have this stupid *** fully updated iPhone 5s and my iTunes library on my mac is perfectly fine but on my Music app it is absolutely horrible. There are so many songs on it that I do not want at all, hundreds. They are not on my iTunes, I unchecked them and deleted them. I tried syncing and the songs are still on my Music app. I've tried going to settings and usage to delete all my music, but the fricking music app is not there and there is nothing I can do about it. I do not want to go through my music deleting it all one by one. Want I ideal want to do is get an Android because this is just stupidly difficult.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

When you say "they are not in my iTunes" do you mean you've purchased them but they aren't on your computer, or have never bought them?

If they are songs you have bought in the past, you most likely have your phone set to show all purchased music as opposed to the ones only downloaded to your phone. There is a little bar at the top of your music app screen that should say "showing all music" and then in red say "show only music on this iPhone" click on that. (not sure exactly what it will say, mine is off so the wording is switched around)

I did that a few weeks ago, on my iPod touch.  Since I subscribe to Apple Music and iTunes Match, I decided I'm going to stream all of my songs going forward, to save storage space.  You do this...

Settings - General - Storage & iCloud Usage - Manage Storage (under Storage, not iCloud).   Then, on the list of apps, select Music.  On that screen, you can remove specific songs or All Songs.

This does not work on IOS 9.2  I have an IPhone 6, and the screens you are referencing are not there.  The help pages for Apple are also not updated.  My music on my phone is all messed up with duplicates and being unable to sync.  I see no other way then to delete one song at a time within the app.

    Great job, Apple.

Still there for me...  Do you Sync Music to iPhone using iTunes on the computer.  If iTunes is keeping your iPhone "in sync" with the computer's iTunes library, you cannot manually remove songs directly from iPhone.  You have to update your iTunes library, or change the Sync Music settings.  For example, if you have it set to sync selected playlists from your iTunes library, update those playlists (add/remove songs) in your iTunes library.

GUYS. I figured it out!!! I was struggling really hard with figuring out how to remove the music from my phone but I kept deleting from my entire library and then the iCloud songs were still on my phone.

So. If you tap on little button in your music that says "artists" with an arrow, you can click the switch that says "only downloaded music." That should get rid of the iCloud music. Then, if you want to remove specific songs, you can go to the song, click on the three dots to the side. Up at the top below the name of the song there is a little phone symbol or a cloud symbol. If it's a phone with a check mark inside it, that means it is downloaded to your phone. You can click this and then "remove download." If you click "delete from My Music" it will delete from your iTunes library too.

    Hope this helps!!

    xx
