Q: Different look of two of the same videos after copying.
Hi Support Community,
I copied a video (screen shot 1) to a difference sequence so that I could edit it without loosing the original that I created. On the copied video I made my changes and when I rendered the new sequence of the video I noticed the video had black spaces at the top and bottom (Screen Shot 2). Why did this happen, and how can I fix it. I also noticed the GSM logos were distorted, I know how to fix the logos, but also curious why that happened also. Thanks for your time and help in responding to this question.

There is a difference between the Sequence Settings of sequence #1 and #2.
Go to your source sequence, where you copied the clip(s). Click anywhere in the timeline. Type Command + 0 {zero} to see the sequence settings.
Check your Pixel Aspect Ratio and Frame dimensions.
Now switch to your new sequence, where you pasted the clips, and do the same for the new sequence. Compare the results.
From the screen shot you have posted, it looks like your original sequence might have an incorrect Pixel Aspect Ratio.
Unless you specifically have a reason to otherwise, HD video should always have a Square Pixel Aspect Ratio:
