Q: iPhone 6 overheating ridiculously and drains the battery - particularly on Facebook.

sometimes it just starts heating up on its own, sometimes when I plug it in to charge - particularly at the moment when I use Facebook. Within a couple of minutes of opening the app its so hot it's crazy. Loses about 1% per minute in battery while its "cooking"

need help please.

    Greetings jibroad,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like the iPhone is getting hot while using one specific app. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

Try deleting the Facebook app. Then restart the phone by holding HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears, and reinstall the Facebook app. Also make sure you have the newest FB app, because there was one a few weeks ago that actually had the problem you describe. It should be fixed in the most recent FB app update.
