Q: Parental Admin for Location Sharing

It seams logical to provide parental Admin over sharing device location privileges so that my kids, kid's friends, thief or abductor can't turn off their device's location sharing without parental/ Admin consent. This Admin control should be available for Admin over family member's devices of family members under the age of 18.

Can I, as the parental Admin lock down the devices ability to disable the sharing feature on a kids device?

Will this feature be implemented in the future if not available now?

If this feature is not and will not be implemented, is there a public document explaining the decision to why this feature is not to implemented?

Thanks

Unfortunately, we are all users here just like you and do not know if/what Apple may be planning in the future; as well, we are not allowed to speculate on any Apple decisions.

As for providing parental control, I am not sure if there is a way to control your kids' iDevices; hopefully someone will chime in with an answer (I am not familiar enough with my iPad as I only use it to read and do not sync or share anything). In the meantime, see if this is of any help:

Thanks for the response and link.

I was actually referring specifically to what that link has to say...

If you need privacy, you can stop sharing your device locations with individual family members.

    As I said,

... so that my kids, kid's friends, thief or abductor can't turn off their device's location sharing without parental/ Admin consent.

Tell them not to turn it off. If they do, take the phone away.
