New Sent Folder Appeared "Sent on my Mac!"

Hi Everyone.

I hope that this is not a really silly question however today I sent an email from my desktop mail and after I hot the send button a new box under the sent category appeared called "On my Mac." I have never seen this folder before and this one single mail is the only mail in it. I sent numerous other mails after and all show in my regular sent items from my iCloud or devices, however this one email does not.

I have logged into my actual iCloud account and this one email does not show.

I am worried that the email hasn't been sent as its quite an important one that I don't have to resend.

Any pointers would be perfect.

Thanks in Advance.

I have a folder called "On my Mac" in the "Drafts" folder - this is where all mail goes that has not been sent yet or doesn't have anything in the "To:" field yet.

It's my understanding that unless the mail is in the "Sent" folder, it has not been sent yet for some reason. Actually, I think it only appears in this folder if there is no outgoing mail server currently setup, as noramlly the "Drafts" folder contains subfolders for each outgoing account mail server. For example, my outgoing server is defined as "smtp.gmail.com" and new mail appears in a "Gmail" subfolder within the "Drafts" folder.

If you open that particular mail message (by double clicking on it) is there a valid e-mail address in the "To:" field? Perhaps you might try erasing whatever is there and retyping it again to make sure nothing odd is there?

Have you tried opening the "Connection Doctor" and/or "Activity Monitor" windows and see if there are any issues with the mail program trying to contact the specified outgoing email server? Click on the "Send" button in the problem message and then watch what happens in these two debugging type windows.

Good luck
