When I start iTunes app, I just get a picture of a girl in headphones...no way to continue from there. What gives?!?

When I start the music app on my iPhone 6S, all I get is a lovely pict of a girl listening to her music. There is no way to continue from there. And Siri 'can not search for 'my music'. What gives?!?!

If you haven't tried already, Try closing the app by double clicking the home button and sliding it up. And try opening again.

If that doesnt work then make sure you're connected to WiFi and then Go to Settings>Music. and try turning OFF "Show Apple Music" option and then Back ON again if you want to use Apple Music.

okay , well there's couple more things that you could try.

You can try a Hard Reset by holding down power and home button for aproxx 10seconds

Next you can try reset of all settings by going to Setting>General>Reset>Reset All Settings, however i suggest a backup for just incase. ( Keep in mind that this will bring all of your personalized settings to factory default which means you'll have to reconfigure your passcode, touch ID, wallpapers and other settings that you may have changed but will not erase anything on the device.

Also if you do not wish to utilize the Apple Music feature and just want to listen to the local music that you have synced to your iPhone via iTunes, then turn off Apple Music by navigating to Settings>Music and turn OFF "Show Apple Music"

MY iPhone 5 also just did this , but I figured it out , hope you haven't been stuck without music this long, slide up to where music , wifi etc, is start playing a song from there and on the right of the volume line is the square box with up arrow click on it and it will open up the pic of girl again but with the option to go to your music or subscribe to Apple Music , just click to go to your music.

Here is the fix

Go to settings - music - sign out of itunes

Then - open your music - the girl will appear again - wait 30 seconds and you will be shown 2 option

Option 1 - 3 month trial

Option 2 - my music

select my music

Then you can back to settings - music - sign in to itunes

and your are back to using your music

Once you sign into itunes again under settings - music you will a option that says "join itunes" this is obciously for the 3 month trial

Hope this helped

I saw this on another website and it worked for me.

1. Close the Music app and force close from the phone memory.

2. Put your phone in Airplane mode.

3. Open the Music app.

4. When it opens, click on Songs with the cursor sign down

5. Choose last option, Only Downloaded Music.

6. Close music app from home button.

7. Remove the Airplane mode from the phone.

8. Reopen the Music app - now it works fine, no more Music Apple Logo with the picture of the girl. (or you can see the option to select my music.)

This is how I made it work on my iPhone.

It is now 11 April 2016 and this problem is STILL happening. Here's a crazy idea, how about someone at Apple FIX IT? Stupidly I purchased an Ipod touch and have had nothing but problems with it, this being just one. I will put up with this for a week orso and if it does not start to work properly, I will ditch it and get something else. How to toss a customer away. Appoint another sociopath to head up Apple, maybe things will get done. Is it too much to ask in 2016 to buy an electronic device that works?
