Boot Camp Assistant stuck "copying windows files"...

The program is getting stuck about the 50% mark when copying windows files to the (8gb) flash drive, after it's been formatted. Has anyone encountered this issue? I'd appreciate the help!

I'm currently using the new 12" Macbook laptop (2015 model) running El Capitan.

Hi,

Make sure your USB is formatted as 1 single Master Boot Record Table MS-DOS. Then perform an Erase and leave it as "Untitled". The erase may take several minutes to complete. I, personally, have found that these USB Thumb Drives have to have this kind of prep and full erase out of box no matter what brand in order for Mac and Boot Camp to Read/Write correctly to them. Then try again. You run into problems again, then you may want to create a new .ISO.

You will also be using an MBR MS-DOS formatted USB or External HD Partition to Download Support Software. I'll check back.

Cheers!!

HI, I was attempting to create a Windows installer. I was able to get it just past the point of "downloading Windows support software", where it said it was saving it. I left it all night (8 hours) and was still displaying that message when I woke up. My computer wasn't frozen, and when I ended it it responded. What do you think I'm doing wrong to hang it up like this? from what I've read, it should only take 2-3 hours to create
