Q: will this fix the flash drive problems

I cannot use a flash drive on this Macbook Pro. I've adjusted the preferences. I've tried everything that was suggested. Really Really upset that this super expensive computer is causing more headaches than its worth.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

You haven't stated what it is about a USB Flash drive that doesn't work.

Does it not mount, not appear in the Finder, not appear in Disk Utility, it does all that but you can't save files to it?

If it's a matter of saving files, the Flash drive may be formatted NTFS; reformatting it to exFAT would allow writing files and you can do that with Disk Utility.

In any case, installing the 10.10.5 update most likely won't be the solution.
