1. Please ensure your USB installer is not a mixed 32-bit/64-bit Installer. If it is larger than 4GB, than it is a mixed installer.
2. Please download a 64-bit ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home for your desired Windows version. You may need your product key for Windows 7.

If you Mac is listed in Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, you can install W7.

I didn't reset the NVRAM or the SMC yet, but I remember installing the Windows 10 technical preview on my Mac before.
Did you use BC Assistant for the TP installation?
Yes. I now can gi forward for the installation but gets stuck in downloading the support software.
Use a wired network if possible.
