mac pro late 2013 freeze and reboot

hi there,

im asking now this forum after 3 days with apple support on the phone didnt deliver any solution

after various formats and internet recoveries etc. my mac pro still freezes every time i start itunes within 5-10 seconds.

after a further 5 seconds the system reboots.

further video editing software like davinci resolve and after effects or premiere are all not showing any videos imported and the application are semi-freezing. can still move the mouse but the whole OSX becomes unresponsive in a way that i cant open any further application anymore until i do a complete reboot.

ironically software like protools 12 and cubase 8 are running fine.

the console log doesnt give any clarity as it doesnt throw an error at crash time opening itunes.

I checked also the RAM by removing each one by one and booting again->starting ITUNES-> crash.

im actually not the only one with this issue as someone posted similar issues in the ITUNES forum, but i think such a post belongs here.

Im completely lost with ideas and I would call myseld a very experienced PC user....

any help, similar story etc. appreciated.

I feel this is one of the strangest error I have ever seen and I ow 4 further macs (macbook, macbook pro, etc..) and have never seen something like this.

best M.

The problem is caused by a faulty graphics processor or some other hardware fault.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.

If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair

Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.

*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
