Will an apple pencil from Japan work on an ipad pro from the states?

Will an apple pencil from Japan work on an ipad pro from the states? Reason I ask is because there are two different model numbers Japan = MK0C2J/A, while American = MK0C2AM/A. I'm currently stationed in Japan and would probably have quicker access to acquiring one rather than waiting 4-5 weeks for one to be shipped. However, I would like to make sure there's no region lock or compatibility issues. Thanks.
