Horizontal lines are appearing on my screen mainly in the left side?
Very fine horizontal lines on the left side of my screen. MacBookPro. Have tried to calibrate in display but no difference.

Take a screenshot of the anomaly, then open the screenshot with Preview. If the anomaly does not appear in the screenshot a hardware fault is the likely cause.
To take a screenshot read the Appendix in Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question.
Do the lines you describe appear in the screenshot you posted? I can't find any, but if you see them please describe where they are.
Hi Mark, I am sorry but I am unable to find any lines in either screenshot. I understand you describe them as very faint, but I did try zooming in on the image to the maximum extent and still could not find anything wrong. So, I downloaded the screenshot to my local Mac and opened it with Preview, and zoomed in on the image so that the ➕ sign to the left of New Folder was as large as a dinner plate, and still could not find anything, anywhere in the screenshot other than a beautiful, uniform Retina display background. I did that with both screenshots.
Try this: In the User Tip I linked earlier, there is another link describing how to edit a screenshot using Preview. You can use Preview to add an arrow, or a box, or something that points to the lines you describe. I'll have another look.
Thanks, I followed the instructions and when I turned the new image on its side the lines stayed horizontal which makes me think it is in the screen somehow from the processor?
Yes, I think so.
