Q: Movies stop playing on iPad pro while home sharing

HI everyone,

i have a time capsule with my movies on it that are loaded into my iTunes library. Home sharing is turned on and works great while watching a movie on ATV but when I try to watch a movie via home sharing on my iPad pro the movie will start then stop playing after about a minute. Then the whole library is gone and won't show up until I lock and unlock my iPad.

Any thoughts?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.

You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.

Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.

There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Thats what I was thinking as well.  Because I was concerned about connectivity I tried streaming a movie i had purchased from Apple but was not storred on my iPad.  I did this and there were no problems at all. The movie played without issues all the way through.
