When I try to print a PDF file my printer does not respond and i get the following
Can't open "/private/var/spool/cups/tmp/
I noticed this after upgrading to 10.11.1
Mac OS X (10.7.5)
I cannot print I am on High Sierra 10.13.2
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one. Post in the High Sierra community.
If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.
