Is a Mac mini 2012 (i7-3720qm)

Hello all. I currently have a mac mini 2012 knocking about. Was thinking of buying a focusrite Safire pro 24 and doing some guitar tracking with to. However will the Mac mini have enough power to give a reasonable user experience or should I invest in an iMac? fy I have upgraded it to 16gb of ram and a Samsung pro 850 ssd.

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

There's been a lot of complaints regarding issues with El Capitan - Logic and 3rd party hardware. You can give it a go with El Cpaitan and see how it works... I have an older Mac Pro and I run Snow Leopard and Logic-9 because of the power and stability... I can easily run 60+ tracks, many plug-ins and virtual instruments without a hiccup. I don't know anyone with a newer imac, laptop or Mini that can run as much without problems.
