itunes gift cards

I want to buy an itunes gift card for my grandson. A physical card I can wrap. All I see on the site are gift amounts they will email. Are physical gift cards available at places like WalMart? If so maybe that is my best bet so there will be no delay in getting it by Christmas. He has an ipad touch. Can I assume that a card I buy in a place like Walmart would work for him whatever he might want to buy like games, music, and anything else he may want to use on his ipad touch?

Thank you very much. Guess it's time to go shopping. Just wondering- can a physical card be purchased from Apple, or the Itunes store? Their process really confused me because they only talk about email gift cards and I didn't see a method for getting a gift card via snail mail.
