iCloud 5.1 will not work with Outlook 2016 installed as part of Office 365?

This is appalling.

Click-to-run versions of Outlook are not supported by the new iCloud for windows application. This is simply not acceptable.

Can anyone please verify that they have iCloud 5.1 working in tandem with an Office 365 subscription?

I am bemused by this since my previous copy of Outlook 2013 was also click-to-run and there were no problems there!
