Upgraded my Macbook Pro (2009) to El Capitan, now asking for a 6 digit system lock pin?

Ok so I have had my Macbook since I bought it back in 2009 and I did have it registered on the find my iPhone app. Before doing this I even restarted it and my battery was having issues staying stuck at 0% so I did an SMC reset which worked fine, now the battery actually charges. The problem can't when after installing El Capitan, it asked to restart and upon restarting I keep getting asked for this six digit system lock pin. I never have even locked it or erased it via find my iPhone/Mac.definitely regretting upgrading to El Capitan as this is very frustrating. I've googled what to do and it seems like the only thing to do is to bring it in to Apple but I would need proof that it is mine and this is 6+ years that I've had this and definitely have no idea where the receipt from 6 years ago is now. Can they look up the serial number or contents and see there are files dating back to 2009 with my name as proof? So frustrating!! What do I do? Thanks so much guys. Also I've read forums where people ask this question and get accused of stealing the computer or buying it stolen. I purchased it from Apple online. Thanks so much everyone!

No I don't have any form of 6 digit pin I set for my phone. Just scrolling through my credit card statements and was able to find that I actually purchased it from Apple.com back in March 2010, that's about my only proof of ownership I could find since its been over 5 years. If I go in and they ask for proof that I bought it will that be sufficient?

There is something I want you to try. You are going to have to boot to the recovery mode. Command R at startup. Then you need to use terminal in the recovery menu. You are going to disable FileVault 2 on your Mac. http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2014/01/check-enable-and-disable-filevault-from- terminal. The first part is to see if FileVault is on. If so Then go to the third part to turn it off. If you find you did have to turn it off, then quit terminal and restart. Then see if you can log in.

OK. i'm going to give you a link. On this link it shows two password sets. One is firmware. The other is (Find my Mac). If you are getting a lock icon with a password field. That is firmware pasword. If you are getting and Apple icon with a four or six digit field, that is find my Mac. The find my Mac is a passcode you set in ICloud. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204455 It is very possible that the code you used for (find my Iphone) is the code that it is asking for. Here is some more on this. You may be able to use your Iphone to turn off ICloud and gain access to Mac. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702?locale=en_US
