MacBook wont start after software upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.2

I upgraded macbook pro to El Capitan 10.11.2 from the earlier El capitan version today and it crashed after reboot.

The macbook now hangs with the apple icon and the start scale around half.

Please help on how to fix this. I just want to revoke the last upgrade.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Same problem here on my rMBP 15". I have tried the update twice now and both times it hangs about half way through the boot with the white Apple on a black background. The only way I got it working after the first time was by opening Recovery mode and restoring a Time Machine backup to yesterday. Then I tried the update again and had the same result. Guess I will be restoring to a backup again and then not updating to 10.11.2
