Unable to Send Imessage via cell number

Hi All,

Recently i've been unable to send imessages via my cell number. It's used to work fine and now it won't. To my knowledge nothing has changed.

Before anyone tells me, I've already tried the following multiple times

Hard reset

Reset Network Settings

Turn wifi on off etc

Turn imessage and Facetime on off etc

I can sign into icloud just fine and I can sign into iTunes & app store

For some reason when I go to "send & receive" I don't get the option to "start new conversations from". I'm guessing this is causing the issues. Does anyone know how to restore this without repeating what I have already tried multiple times.

I realize its an old iphone but my husband has a phone that's exactly the same and that works with no issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

Hello Megan,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see you are having issues with sending an iMessage via your cellular connection. Here is an article that covers troubleshooting this issue, I see that you have tried some of the things here, but I would recommend going over the information provided to make sure you haven't missed anything.

If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Additionally, you may want to take a look at this article in case the issue is related to your cellular data connection:

If you can‘t connect to a cellular network or cellular data

Best regards.
