Q: My WD white light external network drive is no longer visible in Finder since upgrading to El Capitan, drive can still be accessed from network Windows PC.

Problem is pretty much as per the title. I have had a WD white light external dive for some time now and I currently have it plugged in to the same network switch as my iMac and printer. Since upgrading to the latest version (pretty sure it is) of El Capitan I can no longer see the drive in Finder. There is an old Windows PC that is plugged in to another network switch downstairs and that can access the drive fine. I have reset both the drive and iMac and replaced the local network cable.

I have some technical knowledge but I am not an IT guru.
