Is it possible to forward a text message to e-mail?

Often, I wish to forward an informative text to someone who does not have a cell phone, or one that I would like to save for myself. Is it possible to forward a text message to my, or another's e-mail address?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2

I don't think the Messages app will forward to an email. But you can copy the text and paste it into an email you create with the Mail app.
