Q: can't swipe and click to read e-mails, no password selected
I do not want to use a password or fingerprint on my 6S. Is this allowed, and does it interfere with e-mail functions? I can't swipe or expand the received e-mails to be able to read them.
iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2

Yes you can choose to not use a passcode or touch id.
No it doesn't interfere with email functions, except if you have work email account on your phone which will require you to set up a passcode.
but other than that there is no issue.
