It took me forever to download and save boot camp windows support software to usb flash drive.Now that I begin the process to install Windows 10 using boot camp, it wants to download again. How can I bypass that?

El Capitan wants to do it again. If you want to avoid it altogether, install Yosemite on an external drive - How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support - and use the BCA v 5.x on Yosemite.
That can't be a good answer. I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my brand new MacBook Pro
El Capitan uses OSXRESERVED on newer Macs instead of a USB Installer. If you were using a wireless connection, try a wired connection and see it it takes less time. You can also build your own OSXRESERVED by hand, if you like.
