Question on Daisy Chaining. Can I mix USB 3 & Firewire 800 in same chain?

I have two G-Drive external drives that have both USB 3 and Firewire 800 ports. New iMac does not support Firewire. I know I can get a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter, but was also wondering if it is possible to connect one drive to computer with usb 3 and

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

You can daisy chain Firewire drives however I am not sure that daisy chaining a FW to USB 3 drive is possible. I know USB 2 and below was not possible.

Unless the drive's documentation says otherwise, no.
