Q: I am trying to backup my new iphone 6s plus. It will not let me choose any backup, stating there is no backup that is compatible with the version IOS 9.0.2. The backup is the IOS 9.2 (which is the most recent version on my iphone 4s).

I am trying to set up my new iPhone 6s plus. When I get to the icloud backup process, it will not allow you to choose a backup. It states there is no icloud backup that is compatible with the version of IOS 9.0.2. The last backup is from my iPhone 4s (IOS 9.2).

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.0.2, The iphone 4s is IOS 9.2

If the backup of the iPhone 4s was with iOS 9.2, then you will have to update the new iPhone 6sPlus that is on iOS 9.0.2. You can use an older iOS backup on a newer iOS phone, but not the other way around. Set up the iPhone 6sPlus as a new device, then update the iOS to 9.2. After doing that, go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. That will bring the Setup Assistant again and you will be able to restore to your iOS 9.2 backup of the iPhone 4s.
