Safari address bar won't search correctly...

Hi, I have been having an issue lately. It only happens every so often and I have been unable to pinpoint it to a cause. When I use Safari's web address bar to type in a search command, it will say the webpage could not be found. For example when working correctly, I would type APPLE IPHONE into the web address bar, hit enter, and it would take me to Yahoo's search engine page with APPLE IPHONE results. When it is acting weird, I would type in APPLE IPHONE into the web address bar, hit enter, and it would change it to APPLE%20IPHONE and obviously bring up a page that states the site cannot be found. Most of the time if I completely close out of Safari and restart the browser, the issue is gone. I am running a MacBook Air with OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.1 (15B42). I have Safari Version Version 9.0.1 (11601.2.7.2). What is making it change my search data??? Its driving me nuts!!!

Go step by step and test.

1. Disable Extensions and test.

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Uncheck boxes beside “Enable Extension” and test.

Enable Extensions one by one and test.

To uninstall any extension, select it and click the “Uninstall” button.

2. Delete Caches

Close all windows and quit all applications.

Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Select "Library" from the dropdown.

Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari

Right click the com.apple.Safari file and select "Move To Trash.

3. Delete Cookies

Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:

Click the “Details” button.

Remove all cookies except ones from Apple, your internet service provider and banks.

4. Delete com.apple.Safari.plist file and test.

Empty the Trash.

Quit all applications.

Hold the option key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Select "Library" from the drop down.

Library > Preferences > com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click on it and select "Move it to Trash".

Restart. Relaunch Safari.

If this doesn’t help, “Put Back” the com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click on the Trash icon in the Dock and select “Open”.

Right click on the com.apple.Safari.plist and select “Put Back”.
