Q: Siri can no longer set an alarm

As long as Siri has been a feature of the iPhone, I've ended each day by saying, "Siri, wake me up at 6:00 AM" or a similar time of the morning.

Recently, I get an error message saying something went wrong and asking if I can try again. It happens every time, even if I restart the phone.

Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions for a solution?

    Hey Rick,

I understand that Siri is not understanding your commands. Let's see what we can do to get this sorted out.

I would stat with some of the general troubleshooting outlined below. It does go into checking your microphones as well as toggling off and on Siri. If you still have issues with Siri after all the troubleshooting, then you will want to contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204389

If Siri isn't available, or doesn't understand or respond to questions

After each step, see if you still need help:

    1. Make sure that your iOS device has an Internet connection through Wi-Fi or cellular data.
    2. On your iOS device, make sure that Siri is turned on under Settings > General > Siri.
    3. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    4. On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Then turn it on again.
    5. Make sure that the microphones on your device aren't blocked. For example, if your device has a protective case, remove it.
    6. If you're using an iOS device, try to use Siri with a headset. If Siri works, get more help with the microphones on your device.
    7. Contact Apple Support.

    Take it easy

I can confirm that it still works for me. I double checked because I generally say, "Set an alarm for 6am". But your phrasing worked fine for me.

I've got the same problem since December. When asking siri to set the alarm it properly responds saying stuff like: "the alarm is set for 07:00". however when I check my phone it shows the checked alarm clock and an extra line stating "something went wrong". so the alarm is not set after all..

Same problem here.   Very frustrating to find that a feature you have come to rely upon no longer works as expected.   Also, we don't have a dictation problem as this entire reply has been done via dictation.

As the feature still exists and still works fine for most people, it would seem that the problem most likely lies with your phone. What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
